The charming provencal village of Taradeau is within walking distance of the property, being only a kilometre away. It has most local amenities such as a village store, post office, bar, newsagents and bakery. The village and indeed, the entire area is renowned for the quality of its wines.
PROVENCE VILLA FOR RENT
This 3 bedroomed detached Provencal rental property is in a stunning location on the wooded slopes above Taradeau and its vineyards.
The villa has been tastefully decorated in the Provencal style. It has a large reception room/dining area with high beams, beautiful Salernes floor tiles and a huge, stone fireplace. It has all the usual appliances ie. TV, video, dvd and stereo players, not to mention children’s videos. There are two sets of French doors leading out onto the east terrace and the sun-drenched, south terrace respectively. The east terrace is covered, with a summer kitchen, the perfect place for breakfast or a Mediterranean lunch. The south terrace looks over the bijou pool, lower terraces and the vines.
The kitchen is fully equipped with hob, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher etc. and a large larder. Downstairs, there is also a utility room with laundry facilities inc. a washing machine, large sinks and even a chest freezer.
There is almost an acre of large, mature garden, which is replete with olive and fruit trees, lavenders, oleanders and even a large vegetable patch. There is even a boules pitch for extra entertainment on those long summer days.
Below the south terrace, there is a newly built bijou pool/jacuzzi set into its own terrace in the shade of a giant King Palm. Again, a wonderful place for a shady meal or just to sit and enjoy the balmy Mediterranean evenings.
RENTAL ACCOMMODATION
There are two double bedrooms and one twin. They are all south-facing, with French windows opening out on to delightful views across the vineyards in the valley. The twin bedroom has a sink and its own balcony.
There is a family bathroom with bath and separate shower. The toilet is separate.
PROVENCE TOURIST INFORMATION
There are a host of vineyards in the area, including the wine co-op in the village and Chateau d’Astros on the outskirts (as famous for its grapes as its apple orchards)
The nearest supermarket and petrol station is on the edge of Les Arcs (2km away).
There is plenty to see in this area of the Var. The historic market village of Lorgues is only 9km away, famous for its vineyards and olive mills and its Tuesday market (the best in the Var, so they say!). Wander through cobbled lanes, old buildings and shops or sample the local fare at one of the many fabulous restaurants. For a real dining experience, go to Chez Bruno’s, the world famous truffle restaurant run by a celebrity chef.
A day trip to the spectacular Gorges de Verdon is an absolute must. It has breathtaking scenery and a huge lake, Le Lac de Ste Croix, with all water sports and even bungee jumping!
The beaches of the Riviera are 26km away at Frejus or St Raphael.
There are plenty of activities available such as hiking, fishing cycling, riding, mountain biking.

Taradeau can be accessed from the Le Muy exit (10 min drive from the villa) of the A8 motorway, direction Les Arcs, Vidauban.
