Cliffs are all well and good, but they can be a handicap to water-lovers (and golfers!) unless they are interspersed by glorious beaches. They are! And, the 4km (2.5 miles) of white sands at Meia Praia are exceptional!

Lagos is the perfect destination for those seeking genuine rest and relaxation.

Lagos is the capital of the Western Algarve and has escaped the over-building of other areas. Accommodation for tourists is limited and this has enabled the area to retain its tranquillity. The seafront promenade, which is a joy for pedestrians adds to the calm. The town also has pedestrian-only areas, and the main shopping areas are a haven for quaint little shops, cafes and restaurants.

Other sporting attractions include fishing, scuba diving, sailing, and windsurfing.

Faro airport to the East is about 80 km (50 miles) and the drive takes just over one hour.
