The House
The house benefits from sun all year round and has two patio areas.
To the front there is a large fenced parking/patio area in addition to street parking. To the rear of the house there is a covered patio with table and barbecue within a safe enclosed garden.
This mid-terrace single storey house has a lounge/dining room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with shower.
The lounge features a log burning stove and additional heat can be provided by radiators when necessary. There is a TV, video and CD player and also numerous books for loan. The kitchen is well equipped with a ceramic hob, oven, fridge and microwave.

There is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom.
Suitable for young children
A travel cot, high chair and additional folding bed are available, making this an ideal rental property for holidaymakers with young children.
The Area
The house is located in a quiet residential area. A bakery is less than 100 meters away and other shops are nearby. A large supermarket is 1 mile away. The superb restaurant in the local park is ideal for special occasions.
Other amenities such as restaurants, bar, shops, banks, clinics, etc can be found in L'Escala, which is less than a mile away.
Beaches
The pretty coastal villages of San Marti and L'Escala can be seen in these photo together with the rural backdrop to the many nearby beaches and the coves of Cala Montgo and Punta Romana.

This area is renown for its rich archaeologic heritage from Greek and Roman times
Those breakwaters that protect the two beaches in the aerial photo are not a modern construction, funded by an EU grant, they were built by the ancient Greeks over 2000 years ago!
Build a sandcastle on the beach and who knows what you may find beneath the sand, because the whole area is one large archaelogical treasure trove. The small communities and ruins all have their roots in antiquity.
Birds of Aiguamolls de L'Emporda - Bird santuary
The area around Ampurias is rural and is the location for one of the best wetland areas in northeast coastal Spain. The Birds of Aiguamolls de L'Emporda santuary is within this Natural Park and Ramsar Site.
These coastal marshlands have been formed around the mouths of the Muga and Fluvia rivers and include freshwater pools, brackish lagoons and saltmarshes, sandy coastal areas, wet grassland, cultivated land and some woodland. This range of habitats attracts a wide range of birds and around 300 species have been recorded.
Birdwatches (or twitchers and birders), walkers and those with an interest in natural beauty will all enjoy a visit.
Getting here
Ampuras is about 40 minutes drive from the French boarder. A car is the most useful means of exploring and making the most of the area, with its large tracts of rural landscape.
Either hire a car at the airport or enjoy the drive through France that takes around 13 hours by the Autoroute.
The nearest airports are Girona (30 minutes drive) and Barcelona (1 hours drive). Alternatively you can fly into French airports such as Perpignan (1 hours drive) and Carcasson (2 hours drive).
